TIEE hires Marriage Family Therapists (MFTs) and individuals with a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential to perform social skills training, Behavior Intervention Planning, and behavior plan implementation in its special education programs. TIEE also can provide supervision for a limited number of interns in either category.
Our counselors provide their service as integrated members of their instructional team, so they typically provide instruction in academic and other curricular areas in addition to providing their expertise as counselors. Counselors are also expected to provide training to team members in conducting and supporting social skills training as well as conducting and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans. We encourage and financially support the coursework necessary to obtain a BCBA and we have the staff members necessary to provide qualifying supervision.
