Senior Staff Moves

On behalf of the Board of Directors, TIEE is pleased to announce two senior staff moves.

After 37 years of service to TIEE, the students, families, and school districts it serves, Carol Nielsen has given notice that she wishes to retire on January 31, 2021, from the program leadership role she has so faithfully and adroitly performed for over 30 years. Fortunately for TIEE, Carol is merely semi-retiring. She will continue part-time to assist in the training of staff members in research-validated practices.

Alicia Ritter, M.A., BCBA

TIEE is also pleased to announce that, after 19 years of service as a teacher and Program Coordinator at Children’s Workshop, Alicia Ritter has been promoted to Director of TIEE’s Mission Valley Academy beginning February 1, 2021.

It is rare for any organization serving students with special needs to have two staff members serving a total of 56 years. Equally rare is it for such an organization to have had the genuine devotion to their profession, to their students’ achievements, and to the development of their colleagues as has been true of Carol and Alicia. TIEE is truly blessed to have had their talents for so long and welcomes them in their new roles.
