Ushering at the Old Globe’s The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

December 6th, 2010 by admin

Students from Urban Skills Center and COOK Education Center’s Secondary Program have begun their annual tradition of volunteering as ushers for the school day performances of The Old Globe’s production of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

For the last five years, The Institute for Effective Education’s Vocational Education Department and The Old Globe Theater have partnered to provide students with a realistic experience as ushers at professional theatrical performances. Our students are given the responsibility of ushering groups of students, who attend various schools in the San Diego area, to their seats at the Old Globe for the performances. Once their assigned school groups are in place, our student ushers are given the opportunity to watch the performance.

This year our students, all of whom are veterans of this show, reported that The Old Globe’s performance of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is better than ever! Our student’s strongly recommend that you and your family come and see for yourself, this wonderful San Diego Holiday Tradition!
